We are made of meat

This was a project for my Media Art class that sort of developed a mind of its own. Whilst learning Photoshop, we were asked to make an image which depicts an issue that's important to us somehow, be it personal, political, environmental or cultural.

I was at a bit of a loss, since I really don't care about a whole lot of things, so I decided to argue for the sake of meat-eaters towards the growing distaste for meat products in popular society (or at least, on my campus.) Not that it's rampant but, I just don't like being made to feel that what I eat is a "bad decision" per se. In that same vein, I wanted to just have fun with things.

So, in the image we have a vegetable landscape with meat inhabitants, coexisting together in harmony as they all spend the day together. This for me represents the peaceful dietary coexistence that I believe can be had when one understand and appreciate the sacrifices that animals make so that we can enjoy the foods we love.

Ok, that was what my prof thinks. The real reason? I saw the assignment and to me, photomanip means one thing: FOOD. So, I heard this one and my brain went to town. End-result? MEAT LANDSCAPE.
